Mrs. Gwenda Chapple "
My first cruise on Star Cruises was on the Gemini in 2000 and I now have
my 7th cruise coming up in November, on the Gemini again. I haven’t
cruised on any other ship. I just can’t imagine any other ship being
better than the Gemini..The Gemini is the baby of the fleet, and I am sure the other ships are just as gorgeous, but the Gemini is the only one for me. I have made so many friends on the ship (and also have my little family that I have “adopted”) They really have become my “other” family and I miss them all so much after I come back home. The entertainment is first class and even the crew are just as professional as the real stars. I actually love the Crew Shows. You might see them during the day as your cabin boy, or the waiter, or working in the gym, then at night they surprise you with all their talents. One cruise we had a passenger talent night, and I ended up doing the Tinikling Dance (which is a folk dance of the Philippines, jumping in and out of bamboo poles). It was so much fun. You can make the cruise as busy as you like or as lazy as you like. For me there aren't enough hours in the day. I am up early, getting off the ship at the ports for a quick shopping spree, but then having to hurry back because I don’t want to miss any fun on the ship. I also have to try and squeeze in having my swim and a massage. I must go to the gym every day. The classes are great and the instructors there will help you burn some of those calories you are bound to put on because of the glorious food that is served. My favourite restaurant is the Ocean Palace (the a la carte restaurant) where there is 5 star service but you can go to the buffet if you want something more casual, but the food there is still to die for. There is a guest comment form in your cabin for you to fill out. There is a question "can you make any suggestions to improve the service?" Every time I have filled out one of these, I honestly cannot find one fault or anything that I would want to change. To be truthful, there is not enough space to write all the good things down. I can (and do) thoroughly recommend to cruise on the Gemini, but just want to warn you that I am sure it will become addictive, and if you are like me, you will dread that day you have to disembark and say goodbye to those beautiful people who have just made your holiday one that you will always remember." do whatever we want. We only unpack once without going through the
hassle of packing and unpacking at each destination while we get to see
lovely ports of call on a single cruise. Flying and visiting these
destinations individually would be more expensive. Besides we don't have
to worry about our accommodation and meals as these are included in the
cruise package. A typical day for us onboard would be to wake up to a hearty breakfast and then perhaps get off the ship to visit some friends at the ports of call which we have met from our previous visits to these places. Then it's back to the ship and off to relax by the pool and drinks before proceeding to a leisurely dinner. We enjoy the efficient service and the meals onboard. After that we'd take in a show or enjoy bingo and other activities. SuperStar Gemini is like a second home to us and we cruise whenever we get the chance to get away for a week from the rigours of running a waste management business in Perth. Having cruised more than 55 times on Star Cruises and NCL ships we would certainly recommend both companies to first time cruisers particularly a 7 day cruise. As for us we will keep coming back for more." Mr & Mrs Volich Perth, Australia Mr. & Mrs. Lang
