VLAN-001 – Highlights of Langkawi

Visit Mahsuri’s Tomb, built in honour of a legendary maiden who lived in Langkawi more than 200 years ago before visiting Kuah Town. The name "Kuah" is a Malay word meaning “gravy" and involves an old legend of two battling giants who overturned a gigantic pot of curry at the spot where the town now stands. The town is a duty free shopping haven with a wide variety of goods sold at attractive prices. Eagle Square (photo stop). The main attraction of the square is the magnificent statue of a reddish brown eagle majestically poised for flight. Next head to Galleria Perdanawhich houses hundreds of the world's rarest and beautiful birds. View a collection of over 10,000 state gifts and awards presented to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir. The impressive collection of exhibits includes fine crystal ware, musical instruments, Islamic art, textiles and weapons. Lastly stopover at the Langkawi Underworld, where you can see a showcase of both fresh and seawater fish and marine life. The latest attractions include a Sub-Antartic Adventure and an Amazon Forest Setting. Housed within the complex are fast food outlets, a duty free shopping arcade and a shop selling dried seafood.


VLAN-002 – Pulau Payar Marine Park

Snorkel at Pulau Payar, situated just 19 nautical miles south of Langkawi Island. The park is replete with soft and hard corals and is the breeding ground for more than 90 species of fish including the beaked butterfly fish, red-spotted redlips, silverbatfish, porcupine fish, goatfish, black tipped sharks and banner fish. The diving terrain here is mainly flat and the water is so clear that it is possible to see through a depth of a 50ft. Each day, a school of little black-tip reef sharks will appear at the main beach to be fed by tourists. Guests can spend time swimming, snorkelling, or diving (Optional) to explore nature’s marine wonders. There is also a beginner’s dive option where experienced dive masters will accompany guests (one on one) for their first adventure underwater.


VLAN-003 – Transfer To Kuah Town

Explore Kuah Town, a duty free shopping haven with a wide variety of goods sold at attractive prices. VLAN-005 – Eagle Feeding and Island Adventure

Enjoy adventure? Then partake in the eagle feeding activity and watch Brahminy Kite Eagles and White Belly Sea Eagles in action. The wingspan of the female White Belly Sea Eagles can reach 2 meters. The eagles will follow and hover around the boat as the boat enters the feeding area. As soon as the boatman drops chicken and fish into the sea, the eagles will dive for the feed. Being birds of prey, they normally feed on fish, birds, small bats, snakes and insects. Eagles are a protected species of the Malaysian Wildlife Department. Next cruise to the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden which is the largest lake in all the islands of Langkawi. The outline of hills and rocky outcrops on one side of the lake takes the shape of a pregnant maiden lying on her back. But the name of both the island and the lake is attributed to the legend of a lovely fairy princess who married an earthly prince. Her first child died shortly after birth and was buried in the crystal clear waters of the lake. Before returning to her fairy adobe, she blessed the waters so barren women who bathe in the lake will conceive thereafter. Guests can take a dip in the lake or try out the paddle boat rides at their own expense. To reach the lake, there is some 250 meters of mild hill climbing so please be prepared! Don’t miss the Isle of the Wet Rice as the beach is blessed with crystal blue water and pristine white sand. Visitors can also join the various water activities such as parasailing among others.


VLAN-007 – Transfer to Langkawi Cable Car

Take a ride to the top of Mount Mat Chinchang via Langkawi Cable Car (entrance fees not included). The base station of the cable car line is next to the Oriental Village. Oriental Village is a shopping zone built around a beautiful lake against the scenic mountain backdrop. From the cable car, visitors can enjoy good views of the Telaga Tujuh ('Seven Wells') waterfall just north of the cable car line. The cable car was built without constructing any roads through the jungle. All the materials were lifted into place using helicopters. At about 2,150 feet above sea level, visitors can alight from the car at the second station or stay in the gondola while it makes a nearly 90° turn to head up to the top station. If you elect to step off, you can catch another gondola up to the top station on the other side of the control booth. From the peak, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Langkawi, its surrounding islands and even Tarutao Island in Thailand to the north.

Next, head to Langkawi Underwater World (entrance fees not included) featuring both fresh and seawater fish, and marine life.
